Code of Practice

Ridgeway High School

It is essential that everybody in the Ridgeway High School community is aware of, and understands, the Code of Practice and is committed to making sure it works.

This code has been developed by representatives of all members of the RHS Community, community staff, non-teaching staff, students and teachers. Our statement highlights that the RHS Community aims to act positively in relation to Race, Sex and Disability. In order to do this there must be definitions of each:

  • Sex Discrimination is the different treatment of women and men or girls and boys on the basis of their sex, thus preventing them from realising their full potential.
  • Race Discrimination is the different treatment of individuals or groups on the grounds of their race, culture, religion or belief thus preventing them from realising their full potential.
  • Disability Discrimination is the different treatment of individuals because of disability, thus preventing them from realising their full potential.
