The Curriculum
Students follow a broad and balanced curriculum, with subjects grouped into faculties. The faculties are:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Expressive Arts (including PE)
- ICT/Business Studies
- Design Technology
- Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)
- Humanities and Modern Studies (including Citizenship).
In Years 10 & 11, the core subjects of English, Mathematics, MFL (French/Spanish), Science, ICT, Citizenship, RE and PE are compulsory. Other subjects are available as options, chosen in Year 9.
Religious Education (RE)
Religious Education is given in accordance with the agreed Wirral Syllabus. Should you wish your child not to take part in RE lessons, please make an appointment with Ms Walsh to discuss the matter.
Sex & Relationships Education (SRE)
SRE is taught in accordance with the 1983 Act. Our SRE policy is available on request. Parents have the right to withdraw their child from SRE lessons. Please contact the school if you have concerns about this matter.
