Wirral International School Award

On Wednesday 30th June Ridgeway High School was awarded the Wirral International School Award for Secondary Schools.

This award was to celebrate the work the school has done to develop intercultural awareness
and understanding, and to prepare students for life as global citizens.

The panel particularly complimented the fact that internationalism permeates our
whole curriculum.

Year 9 students Becky Hird, Keah Dixon and Charlie Evans performed a ‘Who Wants
To Be A Millionaire?’ quiz at Wallasey Town Hall to highlight the work we have undertaken
this year.  Audience members included primary and secondary schools from around the
Wirral plus foreign and local dignitaries including the Lord Mayor.

Ridgeway students were photographed with the Lord Mayor receiving their prize of WHSmith
tokens plus a cheque for £100 for Ridgeway. An additional prize was awarded of £600-worth
of MFL resources from Pearson Education.
