Sea Cadet Success
Hi I’m Amber and I go to sea cadets. I’ve done a lot over the last 12 months. I went to a camp in Wales called Indefatigable, which is a military base. We camped out there for the weekend and took part in activities like power boating and rock climbing.
I also went on a sea cadet training boat called ‘T.S. John Jerwood. We drove to Scotland to join the Jerwood and went to loads of places around Scotland. We learnt so much including steering the boat, mooring the boat and we also got to visit the engine room. We also had to do watches outside on the upper deck no matter what the weather. We had to plot where the boat was every 5 minutes by using longitude and latitude.
I got a certificate for my offshore power boating. I have also attended a parade where all Merseyside Cadets were given the Freedom of Liverpool City by the Mayor of Liverpool.
The Cadets are always looking to raise funds for things like gas and electricity bills so anything you can do to help us raise these funds would be very much appreciated!
