It’s been another record breaking year for Ridgeway High School, with every child achieving amazing results.
100% of children achieved 5+ A* to C grades, this means every child in Year 11 has left with at least 5 good GCSEs at a C grade or above. Two out of three students in the year group achieved 10+ A* to C grades.
Results including English and Maths are our best to date with 61% of children achieving this national benchmark
Pauline Roberts, Headteacher commented “I am so proud of the hard work from staff and families in helping the children to secure these brilliant results. As a headteacher who has worked in five schools and in four different Local Authorities, I have never known an all ability school to achieve 100% 5A* to C at GCSE”
Whilst all students have done fantastically well, we have to mention our Head Boy, Alex Williams who achieved an outstanding 7A* and 11As, with a points score of over 950 points, one of the highest achieving students nationally. Alex has chosen to study Economics, Maths and Law at sixth form and is aspiring to be Prime Minister one day! Other students who have record breaking results include Hannah Smith with 11A grades and Conran Boyton with 2 A*, 4As and 7 Bs.
At Ridgeway High School we always strive to ensure all our learners continue their lifelong learning and once again, this year, all learners have secured post-16 provision at sixth form, modern apprenticeships or employment.
Success is not limited to just Year 11. The whole of Year 10 took GCSE in Maths, as part of our ‘stage not age’ approach. 81% achieved a C and above grade with half of students achieving A*, A or B grades.
